Hello 619 artists/tenants,
As you've seen from Edd's emails we've been making progress.
We have a new website and the new directory is almost completed,
thanks to the donations of time and money from your friendly neighbors.
We want to do more. We want to promote the holiday sale, promote the
building in general, get press, paint the lobby, print postcards and posters,
and more.
If everyone gives a little, we can do a lot.
Suggested donation of $10. 
Plus, we would love for people to donate their time and skills to the cause.

619 Western Ave Artists,
We had a very lively and very productive meeting last Thursday evening.
Special Guest Jesse Miller, a long time ArtWalker and lead person with 
         Best of the Northwest shared insights with us about promotion, marketing and
         and his experiences with Artists and opportunities. 
Thanks much to those Artists who attended and provided input, energy and ideas.

Building Directory
Riley and Mindi from ...blank space are in charge of a new building directory. 
It will be on the East side of the Elevator Shaft. Suggested donation for materials 
 is $10/artist or studio. A paypal link will be sent to the 619 list. 
Any extra funds will go towards promoting the 619 Art Sale.
         
 Bulletin board area on the South Wall
 Divide into sections. General Art Events, 619 Events Current, 619 Future
New paint job needed. Edd will finish painting outside of elevator.
         
Press
We have a call in to the UW Daily about article featured 619 Western Ave.  (40,000 circulation.)
When published and to receive extra copies. This one and others will be added to Press
page on website.
         
What can we do to get the 619 building get press?
Press Releases to National Art Publications.
(suggestion: Seattle Magazine, American Style Magazine, etc.)
Stranger Art Calendar. We will have a 619 Western Ave listing in Weekly, Stranger, Times and PI
each month.
Guerilla marketing style.
Mascot (Coyote?)
         
Dec Art Walk and Art Sale on Saturday.

Seahawks are playing Sunday. Decided to have Holiday Show one day, Saturday, Dec 8th 11–5 
so the building will be more active and lively. Unless an overwhelming majority are 
willing to be here both days.
Kick show off with ArtWalk on the 6th. Possible individual floor Party Preview on Friday the 7th.

Small Posters. Out to all retail windows in the Square.
Banner. Out only during show hours. 
Side Walk Chalk. Decorated sidewalk and directional symbols.

Building Appearance/Community - Collaboration-Communication-Professionalism.
Clean-up / Fix-up. New Look – Logo.  
Building Image.  Motto/Logo : Consistently Unpredictable.
Bulletin Board - Building: Shows/Events Public Listings - 
$150 Donations at meeting for Building Directory.($100-130) 
Extra goes to other uses. Can lease holders get Artists not on building list to Edd. 
We need a complete list to activate directory
Viaduct Construction- Parking: Starting.  Parking for building during Nov 22 - Jan 
1t will probably
be available as Polson tenants have alternative parking and if contractor can consolidate
equipment parking will most likely be available.
Front Door - 619 Western door sign w/ website.
Floor Reps to be at meetings – give info back to their floors.  Floor contacts.
A rotating person from each floor to represent floor members at meetings. 
Each floor has a contact person.
Minute Keeper – Send information recorded to add to 619 Updates. 
Minutes taker each meeting.
Press Release – Press page on website – Press releases – Photo Images. 
Need good writer and photographer to assist.
Public Mailing List -  Will have Sign-up form on Website.

Lease Holders - Get lease holder names from Stan.
Main contacts and decision makers.
         
Electrical - What does Sam need for electrical. How many floors have schematics?
5s has schematic ready -
Would like to see others to make sure all information is included as needed.
Weatherizing. Conserve building heat. When does heat go on? 
Secure windows and plug all openings in windows -
Staple up clear plastic over windows. Carpet strips under back stairs door and
freight elevator to close openings to outside.
Management needs to rep[air any broken/missing windows.
Tagging / Graffiti - It was reported that arrests were made at the September Artwalk. 
A check with police records has them
responding to call for people (drinking) on fire escape. Police checked safety of fire escape.
No arrests were made. Please 
have accurate information before presenting it to building Artists.
Can we please keep these incidences in building -
contact person of floor or largest Artist on floor from list.
If we need assistance we can then call police.
Did we have security at building last ArtWalk? How do we get graffiti removed?
Us or building management. 
Building Costs - Before building management initiates action that each floor and subsequently
each Artist pays for,  lease holders vote to approve or find solution themselves.
(Management metered the electrical use for a week
at large cost with no definitive results or actions).
Other ideas, insights or concerns - Relay them to floor rep
and if needed pass along to Artists List to be included in updates.

619 Western Ave Artists,

Hope everyone had a successful Thursday Artwalk.

Any difficulties? How did the roof guard fair on the roof?
Someone left a purse and bag on 4s. I passed it along
to the owner yesterday.

Additions and corrections to the list are coming in.
Here is the latest update below. Send along corrections
and additions.

Fifth floor south has all Artists listed. Could lease
holders especially send along floor lists and other
Artists encourage fellow artists on their floors to join the list.

We may eventually have an accurate list for the Directory
downstairs for each floor and be able to communicate events, etc.

Holiday Show is 64 days away. Many Artists have asked about
information. I propose we have another meeting. Would next week
Thursday the 11th, 7:00 work for the majority of Artists? Another day
better?

We can go over main topics, develop a strategy and synchronize
schedule. I am working on a Press Release. Media needs it weeks
before the event. Send along any specific information to add.

It is in the foundation stage. Will style it up later. Send me feedback.

I hope next Thursday will work for most everybody. 7:00. We can meet
here at 5s in the gallery area. Quite a bit of room. Bring a chair.
Will have seating available.

Write down your questions on an index card or send them email and
we can talk them up that evening.
